I had a nice cut on my jawline from accidentally stopping the blade without first lifting off the other day. It didn't bleed much though. Also managed a case of temporary insanity and looked up while rinsing the razor & tapped the faucet. It was so light I didn't hear it & wasn't certain I did until I saw the nick in the blade when I was done.

Oh well, it and my other razor are both in Lynn's hands now, so they'll both be ready to go when I get them back.

Sorry Zephyr!!! At least I know it happens to all of us every once in a while!

Nicking the razor is the worst feeling. Just did it for the first time the other day, and I was a broken man for a few hours. Luckily I got some sleep and some tips from Zephyr and honed it out pretty well. But I tell ya, I am going to be much more careful now. I never want to see a nick in my razor again. Worst part is, that is my only shave ready razor right now, so I was even more upset when I thought about possibly sending it out for a honing. I wouldn't have had a razor for a while!!!

After a months-long slog working out the honing on an old wedge, I finally had it in shaving condition and, with the greater momentum of that heavier blade, ran it into the faucet good and hard during a rinse; whacked the edge but good, was extremely discouraged and didn't hone it back again for several more months. Didn't hurt my face or strop that day, at least. Hurt the mirror by looking so sad, maybe.

Well, these occasional woes make the joys sweeter, right?
