Before we got our hard water problem fixed I found VDH soap the best for this problem, You can find it almost anywhere. Worth a try since it is very affordable. It is manufactured in Texas where there is much hard water.

I have much better luck with my creams than I do my soaps... but then there is the uber too which is my favorite .
Something that works for me, is to melt my creams in my scuttle as I shower - then as soon as I get out whip up a bit of lather, place a bit on my face, strop my razor and then re-whip... seems to whip up a bit better. But then its cream.
How is it working out for you? Is that the only soap you have?David

Thanked: 0Water Softener
From my experience I have noticed a water softener has helped when shaving. I use to have hard water in my home but I recently installed a Kinetico water softener and not only has shaving become easier but my face feels so much softer now. I got mine here in San Antonio from Kinetico San Antonio and got a great deal. I'd suggest using a water softener and going to a Kinetico dealer!

Just keep a bottle of distilled water under the sink. I also bought a one cup coffee maker for about $5 on ebay and if you keep it full and turn it on when getting in the shower, You have nice steaming hot water to shave with. You also want to dip your brush in the cup to make sure you are using nothing but distilled water. After the shave just pore the water back in the maker and you are ready for next time.
