    Default First three weeks

Its been three weeks now since I first started using a straight.

In that time I have acquired:
    4 razors
    2 strops
    strop paste
    Badger brush
    3 Waterstones
    6 or 7 soaps/creams (from Colleen)
    Scuttle
    Alum
    DVD from Lynn
    DVD from Bill

    And a lot of satisfaction

Its been a week since I last drew blood (probably slice a major artery tomorrow now!)
My shaves take around 10 minutes longer, but it is now something that I enjoy, rather than a chore to be got out of the way. Lynn is correct in his DVD - taking time over yourself really sets you up for the day.
I know that I still have a lot to learn and to get right, but I am definately enjoying the experience. I work in an office - suit and tie every day - and now my shave lasts all day

So for all the fellow Neewbies, stick at it and ENJOY the experience. You will get better - just take it one step at a time.

    Frank,

It is great isn't it.. The time will shorten the more you do it. It really doesn't take me that long now but it did in the beginning. I truely love the time spent on me.

You're welcome Frank, I had a feeling it would get better for you if you kept at it - that's usually the case.

The folks here helped me enormously when I started, so it's good to know I have passed on some of their knowledge to someone else.

It's nice when new people "find" straight shaving, I'm always trying to spread the word.
