Well I guess I got sucked into the fold as well, sort of, always used a DE, ever since I started shaving 1980ish. But I bought into the canned gel stuff. Now not even 14 days ago i made the switch to SR and shave soap and cream. Shaving was a chore to get out of the way, now I look forward to it. Afterall I have to test out all the new stuff I "have to" buy

I haven't exactly done that, but I have found myself occasionally searching for the telltale nicks of a wet shave on some people.

Not only do I notice, I make a point out of commenting on it as often as I can
My business-partner has actually never shaved himself clean, all he has ever used is an electric beard-trimmer.
He uses that once a week, and every week I comment on his scruffyness towards the end of the work week!
To his credit, he has never given in yet, not even once.Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

what i never knew was how pathetic a shave i was giving myself all those years-of mostly intermittent shaving.
and dangit now, can't wait for another day of stubble to appear. i'll take a week or two off for deer season-that'll give me some "impressive" stubble to whack with the SR.

Thanked: 5Yes.
It looks like people reject the shaving routine and in same time uncomfortable with the beard grooming.
I think it is the lack of care. People don't want to care about themselves and lean to easiest way - trim the stubble once a week when it starts itching.
Wet-shavers - people who do care. Face topography, whiskers pattern, lathering thickness, blade sharpness etc. etc. etc.

My uncle. Yesterday. looked like he'd hurriedly whacked at a two or three day stubble with plenty of speed and zero accuracy. little patches all 'round.
My pal yesterday with his normal weekends growth. He _has_ brushes and some old SR's, but hasn't indicated wanting to try DE yet. I forgot to take him a loaner. He's one who has bump issues, (and a new wife-who is out of town presently) She might help him remember to shave gooder once i get him started.

Thanked: 247I do not so much notice everyone else...but I sure find myself rubbing my face a lot thinking of ways to get it smoother, and more uniformly shaven.
I am not looking forward to the day when I get it 100% smooth to the most discriminating feel, for then I will have nothing more to learn
