What do you use neatfoot oil for?
I use it for reconditioning horn scales. It is amazing what a difference a soak in neatsfoot can do to revitalize old scales, as well as making new ones pop. It's used extensively on saddles and other tack for horses as well as generally treating leather. I know some guys use it (sparingly!) on strops too, but I have not done that myself.
livingontheedge: Apple Saddlery on (I think) Innes sells pure neatsfoot oil too, if that's any closer to you. It's across from the Rona between Blair and Cyrville.
It's also used on baseball gloves!
Come to think of it, I seem to recall a goalie who used it on his pads as well.
That was the first place I tried, unfortunately all they had at the time was neatsfoot compound and I wanted 100% neatsfoot oil. That was a few years ago mind you. The place on Heron at Bank (Zelikovitz Leathers & Crafts) is a Tandy leather dealer and has an amazing selection, I dare you to try to walk out of there not wanting to make your own strop!
nice looking razor pouch you made. Looks good for a first try.
Great looking case. I agree that handmade is always the best.
