Thanked: 0Hello with Razor Problems
Hello Guys, I'm 16 and I recently started using a straight razor. I had a pretty sketchy set up though. I have an antique E. Weck Barber Razor (The model was introduced for Barbers around the time when Barbers were required to use straight razors with disposable blades). I am proud to say that I did not have one cut or razor burn, nor any irritation. Good thing that I did not cut myself because the blade is all rusted up and has been sitting in my Grandfather's Garage for about 20 years. But the last time I tried to shave, it did not cut off any of my facial hair. I checked online if there was any extra blades for sale or if the company even existed anymore. Sadly it was a no for both of them. I did run a towel through hot water and put it on my face and I did lather up some soap. I had shaved 3 times previously. I think I might need a strop (Or possibly a new razor?) but I cannot afford any strops. Any suggestions on why it is not cutting, or where to get a cheap strop. Lastly, I must say that those 3 shaves were the best shaves I have ever had. I am really getting into this and was bummed when it didnt work! Any help is greatly apppreciated!
Thanks,
E.S.
