My First Straight Razor! OGEE Vintage French Style. (Pictures Included)
An OGEE French Style Improved straight razor with original Box
A vintage OGEE cut throat razor, real hollow ground, finest Sheffield make, 1400 in very good condition. With original box in good condition. This is a round point, mirror finish, hollow ground carbon steel razor that was made in Sheffield. Celluloid Handle. Razor is 24 cm extended 9 and 15cm(6”) folded. Box is 17cm long.
Razor marked to one side “MADE IN SHEFFIELD ” on a circle and on reverse “Ogee 51 French Style Improved”
Box Marked “THE BRITISH RAZOR” and “FRANK BERRY LEICESTER”
Bought fairly cheap but need honing and cleaning a little. but not got any honing stones ect.. (help would be appreciated)

Looks like the blade has a bit of a frown in it (could just be the light in the 3rd photo). Not the end of the world, but something to consider. I'd recommend checking out some of the vendors/mentors/all around experts on this site & find one of them to check it out first hand & see what'd be involved in getting it restored.

It should be a good little razor. I would check the classifieds section for members in your area who offer honing and (if you wish) cleaning services. If it is frowned, it will need a little extra work and definitely not a starting point to learn honing.
