    Default Hi Everybody!!!

I would like to thank everybody for the info I have received from this site. Here is my shaving history. I started out using a DE 1987 Gillette Black Handle Super Adjustable. I used that for years but never got a comfortable shave. I didn't know anything about pre shave or post shave. Then it happened, I switched to cartridge razors. I used those things for years but only shaved once a week. When my Father died I looked thru his stuff and found his trusty DE 1964 Gillette Slim Adjustable and remembered my Gillette. I started using my old DE again but this time I was better educated thanks to Shave Nation. Geofatboy's videos on straight razor shaving made me buy my first straight razor. It looks so damn cool shaving with a straight!

Fast forward three months. I shave everyday now and own 8 straights. I'm hooked!!! Here is my current set up:
    5/8 straights:
Dovo imitation tortoise shell- my first one
Boker King Cutter- 3rd best shaver
Boker Edelweiss with custom Ghost jade G-10 scales
    Boker Tree Brand

    6/8 straights:
    Dovo Carre Grenadille
    Boker Picadilly-2nd best shaver
    Dovo imitation tortoise shell
Frederick Reynolds 1/4 hollow Barber's notch in Sapphire Blue from Max Sprecher-best shaver

    Brushes:
    Simpsons Commodore X2
    Simpsons Classic 1

    Strops:
    SRD 3" premium 1

Thanks again for all the info. I've learned so much from you guys.

Looks to me you are building yourself a pretty nice collection of great razors there!

Interesting that your "best shaver" is a Frederick Reynolds!

Haven't the manufacturers learned anything in 100 years?<g>
