six weeks (fair warning)
I started wet-shaving six weeks ago. Working with a very minimal "extra" money, i've scrounged up 9 DE's and 4 SR's, plus a coticule hone and made a strop.
I now start with a Straight, shift to the open-comb, then do final clean-up with the SS. The more time/patience i have the longer I use the SR.
Who knew shaving could be such a hobby? I dig honing (knew i would-as i already owned an edge-pro) next i'll be buffing and re-scaling razors, maybe make some scales... have "new" soap recipe to try, have antler waiting for threading... badger pelt on order, norton 4/8k on wishlist. etc.
warning.

they're a perfectly legal game animal in most of these united states. trappers have fur to sell. i have a buckskinning pal who rubs elbows with trappers, we trade. also have a pal hunting in CO right now, he's on notice as well (and he's a wet shaver too-so he's motivated).
for the more "modern" approach lookit ebay. i see 'em there right now. also any taxidermist probably has green pelt sources.
edit: craigslist too.Last edited by WadePatton; 09-15-2012 at 05:55 PM.
