I could not agree more with the idea that at about 100 shaves into this the basics start to come together nicely. That is your prep, stropping, lathering and shaving technique is coming together and the reason this site recommends concentrating on the basics first and foremost. It is a little too easy to get sidetracked with all the acquisition disorders that go along with this hobby. But hey whats new that a male thing.

Some body told me a long time ago to wary of a person who ones one gun, he is likely to know how to use it very well. The same could be said of most any endevour including using a straight. OTH what would be the fun in that.

Once you do this, then it is a slightly simpler endeavor to figure out how to align your strokes best. I have realized that shaving WTG and ATG in some areas simply is not possible for me yet...so I go in opposing XTG passes for now.

I hope this helps you and possibly others?

    Update,
The face diagram has really helped me out. Really looking into the growth pattern on my face has proven much more effective than i originally thought, and as a result i have started getting much more even shaves. i can finally get my jaw line under control relativly easily.
    Thanks for the tip, Unit.
