Thanked: 0Honing help in Houston?
I've got some practice shaving now, and it seems to be going ok, but I think I may need to have a more experienced shaver look at my blade. I think my beginner stropping may have dulled it. It fails the "hanging hair" test, and I think I can even see a shiny spot that might be a nick. Someone with experience honing would be ideal, so I can learn that in person.
Any suggestions?

Hi sgcrawf,
Welcome to SRP, glad to have you on the forum. At the bottom are links to "local help", but I don't see any listed in the Houston immediate area, but there are quite a few members in that area that may respond. Also there's the link to the Texas group that you requested in another thread. Sorry for a delayed response, this seems to have been one of those slow weekends on the forum. Anyway, greetings and Welcome!!

Thanked: 443Hello and welcome!
I was going to suggest you post in the Texas meetup thread, but see you've already done that. Also try posting in the Honing thread; there may be more folks reading there than in this forum.
