Thanked: 983Just shave mate. If it's your first time at the game, you might be better off with less stubble than more.

As for the ice cube thing, look up "Alum Block." Just shave, no need to look scruffy!

Thanked: 1936Where did you order this razor from? I ask this because the razor may or may not be sharp enough to call shave ready. This is VERY important.

Thanked: 1936If it has disposable blades, then it's not a straight razor. You might look into obtaining a real, shave ready, straight razor from the classified's...you will like it much, much better.

Thanked: 443Ah, a Gold Dollar? That's the best spell-checko I've seen in a while!
Seriously, though, many of us find slightly longer stubble is easier to shave. If you need to look good today, then shave today. If you don't, let it slide for a day.
What brand of blade are you getting for this? A lot of guys here use such razors, and have strong preferences for one blade or another. I haven't used one myself, but hear they're CRAZY SHARP and sometimes not as smooth or gentle as you can get from a hand-honed blade.Last edited by roughkype; 10-09-2012 at 07:54 PM.
