    Default First shaves

Well, I have shaved twice now! I bought an expertly honed and very sharp razor from a member here and couldn't wait to try it out. I took my time and got the feel for the blade the first time..I even had enough confidence that first time to go for a second pass, and to try both against and across the growth. Well I missed some harder to reach places (like the jowl area), but no blood at all! Pretty good shave, great feeling.

Second shave was a few hours ago and I didn't miss any spots...better shave, same great feel. Now I have to practice with my left hand, its a little awkward using right hand on both sides.

Strop should arrive soon, I'll have to develope a good technique. Another razor is next, and then a stone. Wish my beard grew faster, so I could shave more.

Thanks Lynn . . .for a great first razor.

The success and fun can be consuming! Before you know it, you're looking around, and wondering where all this stuff came from?!?!

Good start with a Lynn-honed blade. Just remember to concentrate on form, and the speed will follow. Reads like you've got yourself a roadmap for continuing in your new hobby. Enjoy!

Congrats! It's quite interesting how quickly you can change what used to be a chore into a satisfying hobby that makes your whole day better.
