My fastest shave yet.
I was late for work again this morning but needed to shave. So I thought to myself, DE or Straight? I went with the straight and went as fast as I could. 14 min and no nicks, 3 passes. Was it my best shave? No but it was ok. When I started 4 months ago it would take me 45 min!! So how long does it take you guys to do 3 passes?

Wow... I'm not sure I want to even start thinking along those lines too much... I'll have my wife behind me with a stopwatch in one hand and compression dressing in the other and one of my kids on stand-by in the hall with their finger over the 'Send' button staring at the "911" they have pulsing on their Cel screen.
I shave my head with my Mach-3 (... still not ready to make that jump either just yet... Head wounds, even small, bleed like no other...) and while I'm doing that my face is lathered up for the first round... Then, I wipe everything down, re-lather and start with the Straight. And, I only use One Pass with a couple touch-ups here and there as I get good enough results with that. I think I'm probably around 20" for all of that including that post-shave balm, cleaning the brush and wiping down the razor.
I really never thought much about speed... Now that you put that bug in my ear, though... If this turns out to be my last post... Somebody contact my wife and get my stuff distributed to the Masses!Last edited by Prahston; 10-20-2012 at 12:50 AM. Reason: Left out pertinent information

Thanked: 3226Having tiny gonads I still clock a blazing 45 minute 3 pass shave. Besides I am never late for work being retired.

The main reason I wanted to get quicker was because the shaving cream would dry on my face! I don't time myself often. I did when I first started and the only reason I knew today was because I was looking at the clock.

Hmmmmmmm, lets see, Speed . . . Straight Razor . . . Disaster . . .
I guess I'd rather be lucky than good. Couple reasons I shave in the evening after supper, it not only gives me all the time I want to take, I'm nice and smooth, just in case . . . ya know . . . even an old hog finds an acorn once in a whileAny day on this side of the flowers is a good day!

Thanked: 220My fastest shave yet.
I'm around 30 minutes for 2 passes, but I take my time, and I'm really particular about BBS in every direction on every shave (must be OCD!) Also, because I mostly shave at night, I'm in no big rush. I used to be 45 min. - 1 hr, but I've gotten quicker with experience and losing fear of the blade.

Thanked: 247My fastest shave yet.
I guess I know why I nick or cut myself a couple times each week. I rarely take more than 10 minutes including lather making and cleanup.
Perhaps I'll slow down some
