    Default self-Honed

Finally got my first e-bay razor up to shave worthyness tonight. After getting my professionally honed one back yesterday so I knew what sharp was I started in on my e-bay purchases and had some little success . I got the thing sharp enough to shave hairs, yet still a little scratchy on the face. I figure some work on a barber hone or one more pyramid might just do the trick. It's a great feeling to use a self-honed razor, almost as good as that first blood free BBS.

Yes it is, and congratulations. You have entered a new sphere and are another step to truly being the master of your own shaves.

Wtg Tim Try just a few GENTLE polishing strokes on your finishing hone. If you're that close, they may do the trick.

Good job Tim! I've brought "new" razors up to snuff, but haven't gotten the ebays to shave yet. Hopefully this weekend. Keep up the good work.

Tried that and either screwed up the edge on the barbers hone or the next time I stropped, but a short trip back to the stones and she's all better, not even scratchy tonight

The shave test went well, no pulling no razorburn not up to honemeister standards but good overall. Now time to try it on a better condition razor, one that actually has some potential.

If you're worried about hone wear, tape up the spine with some electrical tape.
