Wow lotta questions, well... No, you don't strop the DE blades b/c you throw them out when they're dull. How many shaves/blade: 1. Depends on the blade, some like feather I could get 5 shaves out of, cheaper ones like shark, wilkinson, and so on...3 maybe 4 at best; also depends on how stiff and wirey your beard is as well. A 2.5 or 3oz soap puck will last maybe 2 or 3 months of daily shaving; I've had one last 6mo of shaving every other day. This is all dependent on how much water you use, how much lathering/shave you do as well. As far as pre-shaves, I like castle forbes unscented and razo rock's preshave/shave gel, floids pre-shave gel, and TOBS jermyn street pre-shave gel; never really liked the oils, they were a pain to wash off and make your hands slippery.

Just remember you only need enough lather to cushion the blade against your skin. You don't need to look like santa in the mirror; those videos are more "look what I can do...see, see, see!", and a total waste of soap or cream.

That is a good idea to send it to the house, but why not get it now? I kept the box and packing material that my kit came in so when I go home if I don't want to pack it I can mail it home. Where are you at if you don't want out in the open you can PM me.
Aloha,
ED
