    Default Travelling

Guys I travel for work quite a bit. I jump on a plane but only stay for one or two nights. I do not check my bags since I can travel so light.

I can't think of any way to get out of using a cart. I hear about guys buying blades at the destination for a DE but first it's a pain to get away and second I can't see buying a 10 pack for two nights.

I pretty much resigned to using a cartridge but if anyone out there has another creative solution I would love to hear it. Thanks.

    Drive?
I travel a lot too and decided to take my time and some times give up my hand baggage. It' not much longer than a quite shaving session.

I don't avoid cartridges. Straight shaving is just a hobby, not an identity. I like the cartridges for a change of pace and a frame of reference.

I think like Ace does and use cheap carts when I travel by air. Like you say there really is no choice that is hassle free.

I travel allot too, for quick 2 day trips I resorted to using Bic Metals. They're disposables but only have a single blade and a fixed head.

They get the job done and don't irritate my face like the multi blade carts. And at 1.80 a 5 pack, my wallets happy too lol.

yeah I am really not hung up using a cartridge for the rare instances where I gotta travel. I view this like you guys do too - it's a great hobby. Thought maybe there was some way around it that I'm missing.

Driving to Austin from Washington would be a little too over the top just for a good shave

That's not "just for a good shave" you get the time for many.

So, when you guys do travel and give up the SE or safety for the cartridge, do you still take soap and brush and such? What's actually in your travel kit?

I travel a lot. I always bring a brush and a can of soap. For quick trips with carry-on only, I bring a Gillette Mach 3. If I can check luggage I bring a straight edge and a strop. Leaving for a few days this coming week. Just sitting here thinking about whether I should check my luggage or not. Decisions, decisions!!!

BTW, it doesn't matter how much I try with the Mach 3. I am scratchier in the afternoon after a Mach 3 than I am on the morning after with a straight edge. Yeah, yeah! My facial hair is not the most impressive, but still.

Yea, a good lather is important for a comfortable shave no matter what razor you are using.
