    Default Making choices.....

Today was a good day. HD0204 ( Dave W.) one of our new guys, came to my home this afternoon. Dave is brand new to the straight razor world and was looking for someone to help him sort out all the options. I called RodB and asked him to come over to assist and he did. RodB is really good with helping new guys. Geezer and Dresden tried to attend also but were hung up at the last minute.

We spent about 2 1/2 hours and asked Dave a bunch of questions, listened to his questions and then started showing & demonstrating razors, strops, barber hones, shaving soaps, brushes, shaving technique etc.
Once again the main problem was that Dave felt there was to much info/options available and needed some help wading thru all the noise
I think getting together in a small group shortens the learning curve for new guys a lot.

Looks like fun and a great way to learn and share ideas. I hope to find someone in New Orleans that will want to do the same.

Good stuff Randy! Small get to gethers are great! I've got Kyle, aka "1203jjt", and a friend of his coming by this Tuesday the 11th for some honing lessons on his new stones.

Thanks again for the help you guys gave me yesterday(Dec 5). I enjoyed meeting both of you and the time you took out of your day to help.
I can see how this can become an obsession
