My Dovo special arrived today. It's a 30th gift from my wife so won't be allowed to use it until 27th Dec
That said it is a beautiful bit of kit and something I feel will last.
I looked at the bismark and the inox but decided that the special with tortoise shell scales was for me.
Good luck!

I tried to hone mine last night and could not even set the bevel.

I also really liked whippeddog.com, and purchased the Poor Man's Strop Kit, for about $25. Unfortunately, I ended up cutting my strop on the first passes (probably because I didn't practice beforehand). Oh well, I suppose that can happen, and I'm much more careful now. The advantage is that I didn't end up wasting the $85.00 or more on purchasing a strop from the Art of Shaving (though, I do like their shaving creams).
In addition, I purchased my first razor at an antique shop here in Salt Lake City. I read through the different posts here and on Badger and Blade to find a decent used Straight Razor, and ended up lucking out with a great vintage full-hollow round 5/8 from Solingen, Germany (at a great price).
Best of luck to you in your transition to Straight Razor shaving. I know that I've only done it for a couple weeks now, and wish that I had started earlier in life.

To earcutter, you don't have to be sorry, I already talked to Luke at vintagestraightrazor.com and he said unused items may be returned.
To davethegeordie, how do the scales on the Dovo Special look? Are they cheap looking, or do they look good? I'm also debating between the Special and the Ebony Silver Steel.
