    Default Bass Brushes Straight Razor

Just saw a straight at the Swanson Vitamin web site. It is called a Bass Brushes Straight Razor and sells for less than $12.00. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about this razor?
I know you get what you pay for, but for that price it would make a good practice honing razor, and you never know it may even shave good. It says it is a new item.

Why don't you take the bullet for all of us and buy it. Then report back. I'm sure you will find some use for it if it doesn't shave well.

If it is that cheap you have nothing to lose. Just don't get too discouraged if it is difficult to hone. I don't have much, but in my experience honing a cheap razor with cheap steel can make learning to hone go from a little tricky to get the hang of to frustrating. I just found some vintage razors from Ebay and antique stores to practice on. Bought them cheap and when I started getting the hang of honing them wound up with some really nice shaving old razors. I kind of like the vintage ones better than some new ones anyway just because of the nostalgia thing. I like to think about the person who may have used it before and what was going on in the world back then. They have some very knowledgable folks on here that can give you a complete history, and sometimes even date a vintage razor.

I went looking for that razor online and the first thing I found was their brushes being sold with zeepak's razors on the zeepak website. So I would be a little leery of there razors being rebranded zeepak's. But as has been said you won't know till you get one. It will make a good letter opener if nothing else.
