There are quite a few Californian's on here, hit one of them up that lives within driving distance for some honing lessons. YOu will learn more in a few hours than you will in weeks/months reading. Lastly, a reference razor honed by a honing veteran is something very handy to have...have the honer to hone/finish with the same stones you have.
