Thread: Second shave down.

Completed my second shave today. Two full passes this time, WTG and ATG. Still building the confidence with my left hand but I am actually surprised on how quickly it is coming. I actually had shave soap this time and that made a big difference compared to my first shave. I think I dulled my blade a bit from improper stropping the first time around, I am working on that. It is still passing the hanging hair test but not as seamlessly as before. All in all very stoked about the improvement I am seeing!

Doing great by the sounds of it. I've never managed the handing hair test. May not be doing it right but it's sharp and doesn't pull so all good.

My first few months w/ a str8, I couldn't get an HHT to work at all. Having made the colossal mistake of trying to learn the shave at the same time I was learning to hone, I wanted a known good blade against which I could compare my honing efforts. This was provided by the honorable gssixgun, and a fortune in shapton stones. It would be fair to say it was quite sharp. But I still couldn't get the edge to lop a hanging hair. While I very much use the HHT these days, its alway subordinate or confirmatory to the only real test - which is the shave.

Yeah, I'm guilty of that too...
