Experiences with Whipped Dog Shaving?
Hi all, my experience in shaving is limited to a Gillette Fusion. I can use one blade almost daily for several months, and my skin still feels soft to the touch after shaving even with the same blade for so long. However, on closer inspection there's still a tiny bit of stubble left on my face. Fusion blades are hideously expensive, so I went looking for an alternative. I want to spend as little as possible on trying straight razor shaving, so that if I don't like it, I won't have lost too much money.
Whipped Dog Straight Razor Shaving Equipment
Does anyone have any experience in buying from this site, and would the $25 razor be any good? I realize you need a strop as well to keep it sharp, but I don't wan to buy one unless I actually plan to use the razor more than once.
Who can help?

I got one a bit before Thanksgiving from Whipped Dog. Good people and good pricing.
Liked it enough that my wife got me a Dovo for Christmas.

Nah. You can catch it in time if you notice your jaw starting to get difficult to move.

Yes it's bad form to bash, but honesty is what we are here for. I would not consider it bashing to relay honest info...so I did. My razor from Larry looks quite bad, but works quite well. That is not bashing, it's fact (well...appearance is subjective, but most here would consider cosmetic devil's spit to "look quite bad").
Additional description of the razor would include statement that there was so much hone wear that the blade has nearly been converted to a 4/8 wedge, and the blade stabilizers were ground off. I'd guess that this razor started life as a 6/8.
Still, not bashing! He delivered EXACTLY what his business model advertises (a professionally honed shave ready straight razor).
I'll say it again, I have no regrets, he is a great guy and I knew that I was not buying a beauty model;)

My two razors from larry were fine, shave really well and nothing wrong with the look of the scales or blade. With the poor mans strop kit as well you can't go far wrong for something to learn on. His badger brushes are very reasonably priced and do a good job too.

I should have mentioned that. His brushes are much to my liking. Very reasonably priced!
