Thanked: 2razors from the superior shave.
Does anyone know if the guy from the superior shave hones his razors before being shipped. My mom bought me a boker picadilly from him. I stropped it and went to work on my first shave. Happy to report no nicks I can see this will take some time to learn though. Really enjoyed it except for a slight tug I experienced from the blade.

Thanked: 1Yes they are shave ready. Recently ordered from them also. Make sure you are stropping properly and not dulling the blade unintentionally.

Jarrod is a great guy to deal with. His website clearly differentiates which razors he offers shave ready and which only have the factory edge (not shave ready). Did the one you bought have a honed option and did you pay for the honed option?

Thanked: 2Jarrod contacted me back promptly after I emailed him the razor is honed and ready to go after a second shave with it the blade was a lot smoother with less tug so just inexperience and a learning curve to get over on my part. Thanks for the responses everybody

razors from the superior shave.
Jarrod hones all the bokers except for the 900 dollar mammoth ivory model.
Afaik he hones on a coticule with water only and no tape then strops them. Then he does the hanging hair test and sells them.
I got one boker about a year ago from him. As received the razor was not shave ready. I honed it myself and improved the edge considerably.
