Thread: Orange county honing

Hello all,
Was looking around for someone to be able to hone my blade and show me some honing techniques. Found a place in the south coast plaza in costa Mesa called plaza cutlery. They sell shaving blades and accessories, as well as many other types of knives. The guy there named Russ said he's been sharpening knives and blades for 20 years or so...has anybody heard anything about this place or know if it's a respectable place to take my blade? Thanks! Any info helps!

I'm probably biased because he's a friend, but I would say that Russ knows how to hone a razor. I used to work with him at Plaza Cutlery many moons ago. I believe that he also teaches how to sharpen and hone; you might want to give him a call and ask him about it.
