Thanked: 247Why so pricey?!
JimmyHAD, I think that is some great insight. It's tough to make a razor, and REALLY tough to make great razors.
Another frustrating factor for many (perhaps) is that the pace at which you learn to spot flaws will always outpace your ability to learn to avoid them. In other words the better you get, the more you realize what you are doing wrong...and how hard it is to fix it.

Why so pricey?!
Thanks guys for the input. I never really understood things like consignment of artwork. Maybe this form of art will make me learn.
I think Ryan82 provided good insight on why production items like brushes and stands are so expensive; it's a niche market.
How many hrs usually go into a custom?

Thanked: 2027I have never made a razor,at my age I do not have the time left to learn the skills nor aquire the tools to do so.
I would estamate a master razor maker of the highest caliber, has a minimum of 40 hrs, maybe far more,in one blade, start to finish, a full blown custom? perhaps 100s of hrs.
