Art Of Shaving Sample Kit
Hi there,
I just wanted tell you guys that I visited a local Art of Shaving store and got a sample pack from them. It contained a few small packets with Pre-shave oil, cream and aftershave balm. All unscented.
While their stuff looked a tad too pricey I was actually surprised at the samples.
Oil got pretty sticky, but otherwise provided a good razor glide. What was annoying is that it got my hairs stuck to the sink... I had to use a tower to get them off.
Cream was super easy to lather up and apply. Truly did not have any scent!
Aftershave felt good initially, but my skin felt wet even in the morning after shaving. Kind of odd.
What's your experience with the AoS stuff? Any preferred creams, brushes etc?

While their stuff is a bit pricey, I must give them credit, as they were the first place I experienced a proper shave.
As for the products themselves, I had the same pack. I enjoyed the cream, love the balm, though the pre-shave is a bit too "oily", which I suppose is a wierd thing to say. I guess saying it is a bit thick would be more accurate.

I have been using the aos sandlewood for a few months ago. I've really liked it. I like the feeling of the oil and think that the cream lathers pretty nice. since I've been straight shaving I've never gotten razor burn and I think part of it has to do with the product. My wife also says my face looks better than before. But this is just my experience fwiw. I'll probably keep using it for the next while at least.
Price wise stuff I've been comparing to they all seem to be pretty close. At least on AmazonLast edited by funkemaster; 01-08-2013 at 01:38 AM.
If you don't understand my thought process, please read my mind and It will all make perfect sense and should be enlightening for the both of us.

I tried their sample kit as well. I got the sandalwood and like the scent. I'm indifferent about the pre-shave oil doesn't seem to much for me. The cream lathers nice but it seems to be either thin or it dries out quickly on my face (prob user error). I really like the after shave lotion; a little goes a long way. I'm not really a huge fan of their store though, at least the one in my area. The salesmen are like makeup salesmen in the mall.

Thanked: 26AOS was my first intro into straight razors, I really like their non-scented products. Their oil and after shave balm is very nice. If you do sign up online at there website they have discounts and coupon for all there products. free shipping and or 20 to 25% off all the time. Just saying. Customer service at the store and by phone is pretty top notch too.
