The shavette as gssixgun mentioned, is a little less forgiving. I go to the barber for my regular haircuts (school town barber and hometown barber). The barber I go to at school uses straights to get straight lines on back of neck and stuff, while the barber in my home town uses a shavette. I notice that the shavette does feel a little "stiff" I guess. I can't comment about how they feel on the face. I just know that when I walk out of barber A (real straight razor), I feel fine. However when I walk out of barber B (shavette) I feel like I was scratched around the backside of my hairline. Then again, it could just be an issue with the pressure that the two barbers use.
