    Default 1 full shave done

So today (being reasonably awake compared to first test run) i tried the first full shave...3 passes and all... and it went better than i expected.... 3 small nicks on throat and some razorburn also on throat region.
nowhere near the smoothest shave yet, but i have no skill at all yet

the technique? non existent (but at least somewhat shaky )

think i have some trouble with the lather consistency. I used MWF and i get it either too dry or too wet..... well near the end of the shave it seemed close but no cigar yet.... guess i just have to practice more.

Well done, you did much better than me. It's taken me since early-mid December, cutting the hell out of myself, dulling the blade, buying a hone & then sorting the edge out before I got anywhere near a good shave, & that was yesterday. It's a really good feeling when it starts to come together though.

    Congrats on popping your cherry.
less pressure and a lower blade angle often help to minimize the burn. don't be afraid to re-lather dry lather makes for a rough shave.

    enjoy,

I'm still a ways from a BBS shave, but I'm just about to the point where I don't have to pull my old mach 3 out to finish off. One of the best experiences I've had so far was about a week ago, even with the dull blade I found that shaving with the straight felt natural for the first time, I was less nervous & because of this less shaky. That's an awesome feeling & I expect it only gets better. Definitely worth sticking with it.

Good luck & enjoy the journey, but it's good when you start getting closer to the goal.

I think it definitely had some issues with the angle.... and with the f***ed up angle also to much pressure.
