    Default Straight Edge not Straight

Hello I am new to straight Razor shaving and i bought a Geneva straight razor that was rust free off of ebay for $18 but the razor needed a good honing and i took it to a local sharpener and he said that it would take him 2 hours to hone this razor this sounds way off bu he gave me two stones and strop paste for $5 i used the pyramid style as i have read here but i notice that the edge is actually much more ground than the ends it is not very sharp what should I do I am considering sending it to the honing service offered at classic shaving but would like to be able to hone the razor myself.

Go to the members list and look for adjustme69. Send him a PM and he'll hone the razor for you. He is the same guy that hones the razors for classic shaving.

I do not recommend you try to hone the razor yourself at this time.

Another option would be to get a good hone like Norton 4000/8000 and read up on the help files. They contain all you ever needed to learn about honing a standard biconcave Genco and then some
