Thanked: 21Day #2 SR shaving
So as I continue to be a sponge on this site and take advantage of the MANY years of experiences, mistakes, successes, knowledge and wisdom I began my second day with the SR. Mind you I haven’t shaven since Thursday early morning so I had a good couple of days of growth, which for me was pretty thick. So needless to say I had some reservations about the shave, but what the heck, it’s only a razor right. So I enjoyed my hot shower (one of my two necessities each day, hot shower or at least warm and 4 shots of espresso) Kiehls facial fuel and the other typical shower things. After the shower I got a great lather with the soap that I had, scent/brand I really don’t know, it works, probably a cheap one but as I await my good stuff purchased online it will work as I wanted to try something different then the Art of Shaving Lemon Shave Cream that I had previously used. Lather on, razor out(Art of Shaving Dovo) paddle strop in hand. Great stropping, and on to the shave. This time I didn’t use the preshave oil as I had done on my first shave and it paid off. The blade glided across the right side of my face, a couple of tiny tiny nicks but not much to talk about. All and all it was a great shave and that’s where I should have stopped. But I decided to move to the left for just a few strokes, just to see how the razor feet in my left hand. I took said razor in my hand and placed it to my skin but couldn’t do it, ok of course I could have but it felt so uncomfortable that I didn’t trust myself, so I took it back in the right hand and turned the blade so the scales were facing my left ear and the tip of the blade toward my nose and off I went, just a couple of short strokes, and bam, perfect. I stopped there, figure 4 days on the right cheek before Ill actually transition to the left for real. Cold water after the shave, fixed the nicks, and a nice Art of Shaving lemon after shave lotion. Can anyone suggest a good soap that has a musk(similar to something of Kiehls classic musk) or a good citrus.
Again thanks for everything
Christian

Thanked: 2Not bad at all. Shaving with your cack hand is easier to pick up that you might think though, but no rush. As for Citrus soaps, I've heard good things about Edwin Jagger Sea Buckthorn. It's on my list to try next and has been compared to oranges and tangerines so right up my street.
