Beginner - Requesting Help if Someone's Interested
So here's my situation: I know virtually nothing about all this. I've read quite a few posts on here, even checked out some videos. What I'm not sure about is what I need.
I don't know what type of blade is fit for me (though if it's by looks, I'd prefer the razor with a satin finish and a square point, if that's the official terminology), and I'm not exactly sure what the measurements of the blade are about (I know what parts the measurement concerns but I'm not sure which one would be good for me).
I also would like a blade that isn't too expensive, but is of decent quality. Is something in the $100 - $150 range reasonable for a first go at all this?
As for what strop to get, shaving scream, brush, and the other invaluable things I know I'm missing, I am completely lost. Any help, recommendations, personal stories, or response of any other kind will be much appreciated.

Welcome,
There is a ton of information on this site & I guess it can become overwhelming when you try to absorb it all at once.
First don't rush this new journey, you loose a lot of the fun along the way.
Decide if you want to start with a DE safety razor or a straight. Probably better off starting with a DE .
Get a DE from our classified section(blades at most drug stores/Wal Mart) or one of the many vendors that are members here.
Pick a cream & simple brush.
Unless you are going with straights first, then you are set with equipment.
Then take some time to read the following:
Shaving with Safety Razors
For Straights start here:
