Get a kit from SRD and you know it's ready to shave.

Focus on technique first. Making lather and Stropping and shaving.

Then after you have dulled the blade from improper technique (like I did) send it back to Lynn at SRD. your second honing is free. And keep at it. By that time it will be time for your second razor.

Then comes the fun. Different kinds of brushes and soaps and creams and splashes and balms and different strops then different hones......

Don't get overwhelmed with my last paragraph. Technique is all that will matter for weeks!
