    You should be fine - I wouldn't necessarily use your belt - depends on what type of leather it is, how thick/wide it is, if there's any dirt on it, etc. I think you have just as much chance of damaging your edge as improving itby using your belt as a strop.

    My suggestion is to let the razor rest for 24-48 hours after your last shave and strop it before you pack it - should be fine. I've stropped razors the night before (to save a few minutes in the morning) without any problems and I think there are others who do the same thing.

    If you don't have multiple razors, you might want to strop the razor until right before you pack it to let the edge rest for as long as possible before stropping.

    Thanks guys! My waistbelt is a rough unfinished leather so I wouldn't think about stropping it on that!
