If it's newly honed it might have greater difficulty holding its edge. You could also consider wearing your strop around your own midsection.

Yeah, Instead of my leather sword belt I can sport a razor strop! Maybe my sword needs a stropping too!

Use the backside of your leather belt as a strop. .
I've always understood from the many discussions on this topic that the initial sharpening put the razor's edge to what you wanted. Shaving sort of "bends" the micro-edge out of whack. Leaving it allows it to slowly return to it's previous shape but that doesn't always happen completely. Stropping takes it back to it's proper alignment quicker/better/etc.
Following that logic, if you strop your razor thursday and don't shave with it until Friday, theoretically it should be just fine.
But again. If' you're wearing a leather belt. loop it around the motel door knob and use the backside to strop with. . if you're doing the camping thing then find a spot where standing on your belt won't hurt it. put the buckle gently under your shoe and pull just tight enough to get the tension and strop on the backside

You may want to find yourself a reenactment barber!

You should be fine - I wouldn't necessarily use your belt - depends on what type of leather it is, how thick/wide it is, if there's any dirt on it, etc. I think you have just as much chance of damaging your edge as improving itby using your belt as a strop.
My suggestion is to let the razor rest for 24-48 hours after your last shave and strop it before you pack it - should be fine. I've stropped razors the night before (to save a few minutes in the morning) without any problems and I think there are others who do the same thing.
If you don't have multiple razors, you might want to strop the razor until right before you pack it to let the edge rest for as long as possible before stropping.

Thanks guys! My waistbelt is a rough unfinished leather so I wouldn't think about stropping it on that!
