Big Thank You to Sirstropalot!!!

Have to give a big thanks to Mentor Sirstropalot. I have to tell you new guys if you can get with someone in person and learn this stuff from an expert do it. Sirstropalot was very gracious in his invitation to show me in person. We got together today and I can tell you I believe he shortened my learning curve by a long shot. He showed me everything from repair to honing to finishing. He showed me loaded stropping, regular stropping, material then leather. He showed me shaving technique and post shave stropping and razor care. It was like I went to straight razor school today. He had a variety of everything which helped me get an idea of the things I want pick up for myself in the future. It was awesome and I can't thank him enough, great mentor. Not sure how good of a student I was. Anyway get with a mentor if you can it's definitely worth your time. Thank you Sirstropalot!!!!

That is awesome. I have learned so much from this forum. At some point I really want to attend a meet up in an effort to soak up the years of knowledge and experience in person.

I have browsed other forums, and I have to say the fast, friendly, and professional responses here are above and beyond any forum I have read...and this goes for any topic, not just shaving.

Good to hear this story. And thanks again to everyone here for your willingness to share so much!

wow thats so cool that members of this forum helps out like that.

sirstropalot are you a travelling school? its my day of and if you run now you can just catch the plane to denmark, then dinner is on me

fun aside, it a really great thing to teach others like you do. I hope hope i can find someone like you to teach me i my corner of the world

Wish I could take you up on that offer, but the plane left without me.

I looked under the local help list, Local Help - Straight Razor Place Wiki and looks like the closest to you is Oslo. Looks like a boat trip.
