    Default First Shave

Hi, i thought i'd enthrall you all with an update on my first shave :/
After 3 weeks i finally received my new Dovo back from its honing.
At first i was having trouble cutting through the hair, the blade was catching here n there. I only shave once a week and i have quite thick hair .
I was trying to get comfortable holding the blade and finding the rite angle. That was on the first pass or kinda half a pass.
The second pass, i found some confidence from some where and applied more pressure and i had to tell myself to slow down, i also found a good angle.
The chin area was good and i even did a lil against the grain.
I'd spent quite a bit of time on this shave so far, getting rid of about 80% of my facial hair , i thought id quit while i was ahead and finish up with the DE razor. I also managed to cut myself with the DE but not with the SE.
I've realised i have a long way to go but it was a good start, better than my first DE shave when i was left with patchy hair and blood all over the place
I will shave around every 3 days so i can get some practice in.
I still havnt figured out how to make the initial side burn cut, the most important stroke in my opinion ,because having clean , straight sideies is important.
I also tried Proraso Blue for the first time, wow , i like it.
Thats my life story , thx

Glad it went well and that you are getting a feel for it.
keep at it, it sounds like it won't be long before you are getting it all and working on the minor details.
