OK, I have your loaner packaged and ready to go as well as a old strop insert from my SRD strop that I had nicked. This strop insert will get you thru until you have your new strop in, you might attach it to a board to make a paddle strop out of it...that's what I would do. The razor is a 5/8 round tipped razor of good and hard New York steel. I know it's properly honed as I just finished shaving with it and it shaves as any of my razors should. I have disinfected it, stropped it, oiled it, put it in a razor box, then put the box inside a zip-loc bag. I will try to get it to the mail this morning depending if I get my call to go to work or not...I'm on call 24/5.
I would recommend that you just rest your face and shave with what you used to before your quest of using a straight until this one arrives, just stay with your good shave soap & your brush as your face deserves it...that can stuff is for the birds. Once you have this razor in hand, it's up to you. If you perpare your beard, shave & not scrape, this razor should give you a minimum of 30 quality shaves no matter how tough your beard...just strop at least 40x after the shave and 60x (my recommended minimums) before the shave.
You have to understand that if you try to "force" a great shave, you will be much longer in attaining it.
Just relax, take a deep breath, let your face heal...and wait for it.
