    Default Skin Stretching?

I have been straight for maybe 2 weeks. Knock on wood but I only had 1 cut/nick (actually was today) that didn't even need the styptic. Everything is going great except my neck. When I am done shaving, my neck has varying lengths of stubble. I guess it may be from the varying angles.

So I only stretch my sides of my face when doing my sides/cheeks.

Does anyone stretch other parts of their face?

Would this help me get the shave even on my neck?

Most of the videos I have seem only stretch the sides of face and no where else. Are there any videos or pictorials that shoe how to stretch the rest of my face?

There are many ways to stretch. For me on my neck I pull right near my collar bone and lift me head up and back. For the most part I shave my neck without looking.

My first pass is a down pass from sideburn to jawline. I grab the skin just above my sideburn and pull up. When I go below the jawline I might pull straight up on my cheek while tilting my head to assist in tightening up the neck. Sometimes I'll use my fore and middle finger around towards the back of my neck and push towards my spine to pull the neck/skin tight. As I clean an area of lather I will use the freshly shaved area to stretch the area I adjacent that is about to be shaved.

All is fair in love, war and skin stretching. IOW, don't hesitate to pull skin in different directions to get it flat and tight. Sometimes pulling one way doesn't get the whiskers shaved the way I want. I try the area again pulling in a different direction. Through this type of experimenting I've found the stretches that work for my personal beard. Just keep on playing around with it and you will too.

I pull up when shaving my cheeks, I pull down on my collarbone when doing my neck, and I pull my ears up when doing my jawline right near the ears/sideburns. Everything else just requires funny facial expressions. :P

I stretch my neck as well as my cheeks. I just pull down near my Adam's apple, or pull sideways on the side of my neck, (pulling toward my ear). I believe stretching the skin is necessary in all areas of the face with a straight razor.

My first stroke is down my jawline, and the second is parallel to that on the cheeks closer to the centre of my face. With my cheeks now free from lather, I can use my second and third fingers to pull the skin under my jawline ON to my jawline so I can shave that.

I continue down my neck and jaw, but the stretching is done my turning my face to one side and/or contorting my facial expressions (i.e. turn head to right to shave left side and sort of 'purse' lips to the right to make the skin taught). I then do the same on the left side of my face.

When I shave my neck ATG I raise my chin to the sky; sideways, I find that stretches the skin on my neck enough to make it taught.

my neck grain is from left ear to right ear and flat sideways. I do my upper face first completely and then I dry my upper face to do some serious pull and stretching to get the stubble up. Practice with a dry face to see which raises the stubble the most. And don't pull the wrong way as this will flatten it even more. That's the only way I have found that gets bbs on the neck. I have never been able to pull off a bbs without atg on the neck on anything. Mach 3 DE shavette or straight.

I use a hand towel and pull the heck out of my neck skin away from the direction I'm shaving. It's a must for me for a close shave on the neck.

My hair on my neck grows from my right ear to my left ear, making it almost impossible for me to safely and reliably go atg all the way on my neck. Can I get a bbs effect with stretching and going wtg and xtg if I do it right? I realize this is probably different from person to person, but is there anyone with a similar experience? I've never gotten bbs on my neck and I really want it :P
