Thanked: 485I'd second Proraso and Body Shop Macca Root. Proraso is a great summer soap/cream. I say 'soap/cream' as it really is a cross between a soap and a cream. BS Macca Root almost lathers itself...And you only need the tiniest amount....
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

I haven't experienced a lot of different types (about 5), but the best I've found for a strait soap is Cella...but what is even better and more comfortable to me anyway is mixing the cella with a little CO bigelows and some glycerin. That mix give me the great shaves with no irritation at all.

Thanked: 0I went full force with wet shaving once I uncovered this wonderful world...
Unfortunately for me that caused some problems. I got some reactions to some of the soaps/creams with heaver fragrances in them. I also noticed very tender/sensitive skin on my neck after using certain products. I had to go back to basics and try to keep it natural.
I am really enjoying Mitchells Wool Fat soap.... It doesnt have a strong scent like some other lathers BUT it keeps my skin moisturized.
I am also REALLY enjoying Razo Rock aftershave "wax".... In combination with the MWF i am finding that my skin feels great after a shave and especially the next day.
I guess my only suggestion would be to slowly introduce the changes to your routine instead of introducing 2-3 new products right away... It can make it very difficult to narrow down the problematic product this way.Last edited by SteveRap; 04-08-2013 at 08:59 PM.

I also use Proraso pre/post cream, Proraso cream in the tube and Proraso soap in the tub (just got that one last night actually and am about to use try it once I get off here and get my ass in the shower lol).
I've heard really good things about DR Harris and that it has outstanding lubrication...I'm going to be getting a tube of their lavender cream soon (I have a moustache wax that's a lavender & bergamot and love the smells so I'm sticking with what I know for now).
Williams is a soap that people either love or hate. It takes a bit to figure out how to use it properly so if you get it (it's only about $1), read up on the many threads here that give tips on using it (basically use a whole lot of water). Myself, personally, I find Williams to be too drying for my skin, but it's cheap enough to just try it and make your own assessment.
Have fun!

I'm a big fan of TOBS and Maca Root. I find that TOBS make a great lather really easy. Maca root has a great scent and a great lather, but I find it leaves my faces just a little oily.
There is always a solution, whether it's already present or if you have to make it.

Like many, I use the Bigelow too. I think the usually have buy 2, get 1 free. I even found a coupon when I bought mine and ended up getting this rebranded Proraso for less than 3 bucks a tube. I also load my brush a few seconds first with Clearly Natural glycerin soap I got at the dollar store. Before I found that, I used 365 glycerin soap for 2 bucks at Whole Foods. Both soaps can be used in the shower beforehand as well, then with the Bigelow to make a "superlather."
