Thread: 21 days in - time to get serious......

Well this morning was my 21st straight razor shave. Depending on the plans for the day, some days I still touch up my shave with a safety razor, but some days I don't. The quality of the shave is getting better everyday. The important thing is, I'm completely hooked on shaving with the straight razor, and that means budgeting some new toys. I've been wet-shaving forever, so I already had brushes, soaps & creams, after shaves, alum, and all that stuff. When I bought the straight razor form Larry, that's all I bought was the razor. For three weeks I've shaved with it, stropped it 100 laps on a phonebook (newsprint), oiled it and put it back on my dresser. Now it's time to get serious and pick-up a strop and a hone. (and then another razor, and then another hone, and then another razor........)

Strop: most any will do
Hone: Naniwa SS 12K

With these, you'll be set for months unless you damage the edge stropping, often par for the course.
