I am newly registered to the site, been reading the posts here and at the yahoo group for a while. Recently decided to change in my lawnmower for something different and purchased several items from classicshaving.com. While I found the site to be very helpful, I couldn't understand why they do not seem to offer honing / sharpening services right off the bat... the site specificially states, This service applies to razors which have become dull through normal use and require "routine resharpening" only.

I assumed it meant exactly what it said, but after reading some of the posts here, I get the impression that is not entirely accurate. It seems as if though I could have had them send it directly to Lynn himself before it came to me.

Not that I am completely worried, I ordered a Norton 4k/8k waterstone with the intention that I would begin the honing and stropping process once it arrives. Any thoughts on this from the other members? Did I screw this up?
