Thanked: 4Graduation Day?
Hi everyone, Matt here. Well, today I finally completed my first full shave using only my straight razor. Since I started with it a couple of months ago I've been going at it with the straight about once a week, a little at a time, and then finishing up with my regular DE razor. Well today I passed what I consider to be my "final exam" (haha) which was to fully shave my entire face to an acceptably close shave that would be ok leaving the house or going to work with. I won't lie, it took me like an hour and a half and there was some pink lather produced, but I was still quite excited and felt accomplished after it was all said and done. I finally feel like I am worthy of some of these beautiful pieces of art that I've become obsessed with over the last couple of months, and I can finally say that I can actually shave my face with one. The tools were as follows: (New not vintage) Boker King Cutter, Mitchell's Woof Fat soap, and the Italian Barber 2012 Limited Edition Semogue Boar Brush (basically a 1305 I think?). Looking forward to many more shaves with many more fun toys. PS- that's my "Satisfied Shave" face, not my "Poked my eye out with the straight" face. They're pretty similar.

Nice one, it's a good feeling when you get to the point where you don't need to grab your old razor to finish off.
