Thread: Upper Lip blues...

Gentlemen,

I am obviously new to straight razor shaving and although most of it is going very well for me, I simply cannot shave my upper lip without slicing it to pieces. I've tried holding my nose out of the way, more lather, funny faces, watched video on youtube, etc.. But, I end up slicing myself or shaving nothing off at all. (I'm using a new, very sharp razor btw..) If there is anyone with any tips out there, I'd really appreciate it!!

Try searching for coupe de maitre. This is the stroke for the upper lip under the nose.
Good luck, it will come to you, but you must be patient. This was one of the last places I perfected.
