Well the first shave is in the bucket and it went pretty well IMO. Started out with the sideburns and moved onto the cheeks. I did xtg across most of face and neckline with atg here and there. My chin was the only area that gave me any trouble. The result was a good shave but did some touch up with my DE. Stropping is harder than it looks and will definitely require practice.

Huzzah! It's finally here! Enjoy it & take your time with stropping. It's often easier to lay the stop on a table & use it like a bench strop so you don't have to worry about strop tension till you've mastered the blade motion & flip.

Congrats. It has been about 11 weeks for me since I started. I rarely cut myself and my shave doesn't take as long as it used to. The only part of my shave that I go super slow on and I still get that nervous feeling of cutting myself is around my mouth.

As far as stropping goes, I am much much better at it than when I started. I still am super careful not to nick the strop and I still do occasionally.

Can you post full photos of the razor and the strop. Thanks and congrats.

I will try the strop on the table next time sounds like a good idea until I get more proficient.

I took an overview photo of a razor but for some reason it wouldn't upload, I will tinker with it after work and I'll get one of the strop.

Here is a photo of the strop and razor together. I had to use my iphone as I am away from home for a few days so the quality is not the greatest.
