Thanked: 0Input on first straight razor
Hello all!
I'm really glad I found this place, seems like a great community!
I've decided to finally take the step to the straight razor now, it's been something i have wanted to try for as long as I can remember.
I have read alot of posts and guides and decided to buy from the invisible edge so I can get one shave-ready from the start. I hope it's ok to mention other sites!
One thing i have decided is that i don't want a used razor but still don't want to spend to much on my first razor. Otherwise i would get a Böker
The two i'm deciding between now is the invisible edge's own brand razor (the set with a strop) and the cv heljestrand they have there.
I really like vintage stuff and i'm swedish, thus the cv heljestrand
It seems to be 4/8 though and as i've understod 5/8 is better for beginners?
Could someone please give me some pointers as I feel abit lost in the jungle of wetshaving. Appreciate any help!

Hi Jiblu
I have a CV Heljestrand that I got from I.E. and I like it very much.
It is a "small" razor, but good.
It suits me fine and shaves well.

A 6/8 is a good middle-of-the-road size for a blade. Until you know whether you like smaller or bigger blades, start in the middle and see where it takes you. Good luck!
