Default Motorcycle skid marks on my neck

"Where did you get these skid marks on your neck?" was just the first question I was asked this morning at work.
This was my third SR shave. The first one was great. No cuts, nicks or burns. The second was not so good because I assumed I don't have to strop... still it was not too bad.
This morning I stropped and made all the necessary preparations. It went OK until I got to my neck.
The razor was sharp enough to shave my cheeks smooth and clean.
I think my mistake was that I didn't stretch my skin at the neck and the results were awful.
I actually did not cut myself and didn't bleed but it looks like I removed some skin instead of hair.
Now I have two days to think about my technic before the next attempt.
Any suggestions on how to improve my skills?

Don't adjust the razor angle while it is on your face, and don't stretch your skin while the blade is on your face. If your skin isn't taught and you pass your razor across, you might have some skipping like you described.

It takes a while for your skin to adjust to SR's too.

Stretch and raise your chin a bit. Put the blade to your neck (start center first), raise the spine a bit and as you go WTG try to make the angle of the spine constant while following the contour of your throat. It will be almost like sliding it down a slope, or try to take small/short strokes until you go from top to bottom, move to next section, repeat.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Often times that can happen when someone first uses a spike and isn't careful. otherwise, like they said, stretch that skin tight.

Thank you all for your help.
I took a step backwards and take it very slow now.
At least I enjoy the process :-)

As well, a nice slick lather will improve things greatly.
