It was a straight razor shave....
I know it sounds crazy, a dry shave.
You have to experience it to understand it.
I cant fully explain it myself but im sitting here irritation free and i mean 100% free with the closest shave ive had in a long time.
Water = Wrong
My dry shave today was slicker than any wet shave i've had , with no oil or grease,
I'm not even making sense to myself, but its true..

Thanked: 177Never heard of this. I'm not saying I don't believe you. I guess if you live long enough you will see everything.

If nothing else, it could be useful for travel, I suppose.
Where did you get it from?

I don't have a problem with new shaving products at all. I've used "Canned Goo" with no problem. I've shaved with dishwashing liquid and a brush and got a good shave. I've shaved with just a pre-shave oil, and that worked OK. I'm willing to experiment and am not stuck in old ways. But I have two issues with Bold For Men Shave Gel:
1. If you put something on your face, it's not a "dry" shave. It might be waterless, but it is no more dry than shaving with a pre-shave oil.
2. I like shaving soap because I can see where I have shaved and where I haven't. With this product you can't.

Would this type of "dry" shaving hasten blade dulling?

It wouldnt dull the blade because it has some kinda chemical in it that turns the hairs really soft within 30 seconds :/ I noticed that when i shaved with Bold For Men there was no sound of hairs being cut..
I let my younger brother try it today and he was blown away , laughing as he shaved, he has sensative skin and it was irritation free for him.
My older brother didnt like it (fool) because he shaves evey morning he couldnt tell where he had shaved and where he hadnt because hes dealing with short stubble and the Bold For Men is transparent..
He prefers his creams so he can see where hes been...
I shave once a week so its perfect for me..
I'll always try different products and im looking into buying about 7 tubes,,sounds like a good number...
The way i see it is that if its better than shaving cream and oil then its better.
Smoother, faster, better...
this is where i bought mine:

Anyone else a little concerned about putting 'some kinda chemical' on their face? It would be interesting to know what that active ingredient is. Since I have been trying to get away from putting my skin into contact with unpronouncables, I would be leery of trying something like this before knowing what's in it.
However well it works, it does sound to me like it would take part of the fun out of the process/ritual, so it isn't for me. But if it's working for you and you like it - more power to ya.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Thanked: 2Try regular depilatory cream and a butter knife - result should be the same))
I guess if you dilute the depilatory liquid with a generic gel, you will end up with a similar product... I would not put that chemistry on my face, early wrinkling and dehydration will surely follow...just my 2 cents...

Thanked: 39My wife used "veet" for her legs etc. You put it on and after short time You scrape it off with a plastic scraper. It actually dissolves the hair.
It's probably working somewhat like that and if you wait another minute You might also be successfull with a sharp plastic scraper.Last edited by DDTech; 06-19-2013 at 10:07 AM.

Bottom line to me is started wet shaving for a reason-I hate shaving. I am using the fancy traditional stuff because the experience is better. I am not looking to get the quickest shave possible with some hybrid of technology and voodoo. I enjoy the ritual now. As some have pointed out all you need is a sharp object and some type of medium to assist the sharp object. I do not care for that. Better might not be faster for some. I wanna enjoy that time during. I like the scents. I like pacing myself to get the hair removed. At the end, I smile and say that is one damn smooth face.
From their stillness came their non-action...Doing-nothing was accompanied by the feeling of satisfaction, anxieties and troubles find no place
