Strop Height
What is the best height to install a strop?

Matter of personal preference. I began, and remain waist high. Happens to be doorknob height and I attach the strop clip with a zip tie (cable tie) around the knob. Also seems to be where barber's had theirs on the do hickey that was on the arm of their barber chairs.

As Jim says is all prefferance,Jim, using the door knob and Being 6 ft 7 is stropping on a downward plane.Me at only 6 ft use the towel bar,so I strop on an upward plane,who knows the correct Hgt?? not me

My strop at home is mounted waist high, but last month I stayed in a couple of motels and had to mount it on a clothes hanger. In the motels I had to strop on an upward plane and I think I liked it better.

I have tried waist height and head height, I prefer my strop at head height.
Try it both ways and see which you prefer.

It's whatever height you feel comfortable stropping. Try a few highs and lows to see what you like.
I use mine chest high.You can take the boy out of NY, but you can't take NY out of the boy.

I put mine at about chest-high. It is comfortable for me, although I haven't tried any other heights yet.

I actually have the strop slightly backwards when stropping. I attach the strop to a belt loop and hold the end of the strop away from me with a bit of a rise to just below chest height. I also hold the strop with a slight cant. That's just what works for me, but I'm an oddball so YMMV.
