Default Another message to the beginners from a beginner...

I am coming up on 90 or so straight shaves... I have years of DE shaves under my belt.

I want to encourage all the beginners, those seeking a great straight shave, who are possibly doubting whether it can or will happen... Stay with it!!

I had my fair share of stubble, nicks and cuts and days that my face had so much irritation and burn I was sure it spontaneously combust. But like anything else you want to master, practice, patience and more practice and patience will pay off for you!!

I am starting to string together Five Star shaves, back to back. They rival the best DE shaves I have and in fact, today's shave just might be in the top two regardless of blade.

Take your time. Watch your angles... And stretch..stretch..stretch!!

Small short strokes paired up with constant readjusting of your stretch.

It's like... one day you wake up and it all comes together. The muscles know what to do, your fingers know which way to tug and draw simaltaneously. And you actually know how to position yourself in the mirror so you can see, even though your arms are wrapped around your head like Medusa's snakes.

Thanks again to all the seniors here who offer their support and advice!!

I would be lying if I said I didn't have moments of doubt... especially having had so many BBS's with DE's..

But the reward is sweet.. Possibly sweeter than DE success.
